Default Multiple foes vs. 1 foe Drop rate

So I've been doing a few permasin plains runs and my friend mentioned that if you kill one foe at a time, the drop rate is better, as opposed to killing 27 at a time. Has this been confirmed? I saw another thread saying that the drops for all creatures were determined when you entered the area, so naturallly that kinda conflicts with this idea.

If it has been confirmed, I have another question:
Can you get a mob of foes down to low health, then do something like wand/spike them to death one by one to get a better drop rate?

i'm pretty sure it's been proven that all drops are determined when you zone into an area, and the whole "drops get worse when you kill too many at once" thing was a myth.
that's just what i picked up from browsing forums and wikis randomly though, i may be wrong.

Take a look at this thread.

If I'm correct, SV kills foes one at a time and SoJ kills them all at once. Both players got the exact same drops, so there isn't any difference between killing the foes one by one or all at the same time.

Loot scaling has been proved to be kill rate sensitive (by me, coincidentally) so the answer is that yes, drop rate is better when you kill slower. There isn't any conflict between predetermined drops and LS since LS just decides (at kill time) whether you get the predetermined drop or not.

However, since you're farming plains for ecto, and ecto is on the LS exempt list, your ecto drop rate is not affected by how you kill. Faster killing = more ecto per hour in average.

Well the thread about the monks is unmistakenly correct. But i have also read a thread that was saying SoJ had better drops then SV. The SV had for lesser drops then the SoJ. This was also with a lot of screens en testing.

The arguments will continue endlessly, because no one wants to believe it is all luck. Kill fast or kill slow, full party or solo, your ecto drops will still occur due to luck.
